Profile

ODETTE Czech Republic (ODETTE CZ) was established as the ODETTE National Organisation by the Automotive Industry Association in February 1993. January 1st, 1994 the Czech Republic joined ODETTE Europe as its full member.

AIA has about 100 members - companies involved in vehicle and component production, trade, research, testing and development. A prominent role in the Czech automotive industry plays SKODA AUTO a. s., the biggest member company, belonging to Volkswagen Group since 1991.

Being aware of a need of using progressive communication methods in relations of business partners SKODA AUTO initiated the foundation of the National Organisation ODETTE CZ. The mission of ODETTE CZ is to support on various levels within the automotive industry an implementation of latest EDI systems based on ODETTE and EDIFACT standards, particularly in Logistics, Engineering and Finance, and to provide EDI users with needful know-how.

Today 15 companies are active members within ODETTE CZ - SKODA AUTO as the only car manufacturer, suppliers and SW providers working for the automotive industry. The most of ODETTE CZ members are collaborating on EDI projects together with SKODA. As SKODA is striving for a dramatic turnaround in the build of product quality, which has to meet world-class standards, the utilisation of ODETTE and EDIFACT standards by the Czech automotive industry is rather vital.

SKODA AUTO currently is the "frontnumber" enforcing the implementation and development of EDI technology within the Czech automotive industry and strives to expand the implementation and using of EDI in accordance to European standards all over the Czech industry. Under heading of Mr. Michal Nettl, chairman of ODETTE CZ, who's working on EDI projects in SKODA AUTO, ODETTE CZ is preparing basic documents, recommendations, manuals, messages etc. necessary for EDI implementation in the Czech national environment.
